Exceptional Results for Impington International Sixth Form

For the third year in a row, the pass rate for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma exceeded 95% improving to 97% in 2017, an outstanding success in comparison to the international pass rate of 80%. Some notably superb individual successes: Lorenzo Marzano attained 44 points of a possible 45, including grade 7s in both Higher and Further Maths and is off to read Economics at King’s College Cambridge; Paul Wernicke, 43 points, who likewise has a place at Cambridge to read Engineering; Meggie Hartwright 42 points, who goes to read Business at Bath; Joan Garcia Reyero, 42 points and Samuel Gramata, 41 points who go to Edinburgh and LSE. Particularly strong this year was the hugely challenging Maths Higher level and Further Maths courses, where 83% of students attained the top two grades.

We are hugely proud of all 57 of our IB graduates this year, most of whom come to us with C and B grade GCSE or equivalent profiles and all of whom succeed in the rigorous IB Diploma programme at Impington.

We are likewise delighted for our second IB Career Programme cohort who achieved an amazing 100% pass and an outstanding 54% distinction or distinction star in their Performing Arts BTEC.

Our A-Level and BTEC Students also delivered superb outcomes with 22% achieving A/A* and Distinction/Distinction* grades, 63% achieving A*-C and Pass grades and 95% achieving A*- E and Pass grades.
