On Wednesday 2nd December we held the third BITE LIVE event, bringing together an audience of clients and agencies to hear some incredible speakers behind some of this year’s best work.

A change to the format saw us move from an evening event to a morning, with the intention of inspiring our audience before they headed into the office.

The overarching theme for the day was that of customer centricity; the importance for brands to have a deep understanding of their audience. On the topic of motherhood, Richard Huntington, Chief Strategy Officer at Saatchi and Saatchi, told us there are in fact eight emotional roles that mums are looking to play from Rule Breaker to Carer, we must not view mum as just one group. Whilst, Ben Johnson, Global Media Director at Unilever, highlighted a new instore innovation which looks to build on each individual’s shopping experience.

First to take to the stage were Nick Emmel, Strategy Partner at Mr President, and Ben Johnson, Global Media Director at Unilever, on bridging the physical and digital divide and the wisdom behind their RFID-embedded discovery spoons for mustard brand Maille.

Next up we had Wiktor Skoog, Strategic Design Director of Grey London, and start-up Albedo100, unearthing the strategy behind the revolutionary Life Paint product – which is helping Volvo lead the way in road safety.

Finally, we were privileged to hear Carrie Longton, Co-Founder of Mumsnet, and Richard Huntington, Chief Strategy Officer at Saatchi & Saatchi, sharing the ‘eight emotional rules’ of modern motherhood.
