Weinstein Breaks Championship Scoring Mark

Denver’s Mary Weinstein led the Pioneers to their sixth straight NCAA Tournament appearance in record-breaking fashion as she closed the 2019 Summit League Championship with a single-round record 65 (-7). Weinstein earned Championship MVP honors by tying the 54-hole scoring record of 217 (+1) en route to her first victory as a collegian.

McCoy Wins Four-Man Playoff to Capture Championship MVP honors

Denver’s Cal McCoy drained a 15-foot birdie putt on the opening hole of a four-man playoff to capture Championship MVP honors and lead the Pioneers back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2014. The rookie’s victory was the first of his collegiate career.

Omaha Wins First Summit League Crown Behind the Arm of Payton Kinney

Payton Kinney tied a program record with his 11th victory of the season in a winner-take-all game at The Summit League Championship that provided the Mavericks with their first league title and NCAA Tournament berth. He allowed just one hit and struck out 10 to earn his second victory in the tournament. Omaha’s win ended Oral Roberts 20 year streak of winning the postseason event as a league member.

South Dakota's Chris Nilsen wins Pole Vault National Title

The South Dakota junior won his third career pole vaulting national title, second outdoor, in the toughest NCAA pole vault competition in history, going on to break his own NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship meet record – twice – in the process. Nilsen ultimately came away with his third national title with a personal best of 19 feet, 6 ¼ inches (5.95m).

University of Missouri-Kansas City announced as the League’s 10th Memeber

Summit League Commissioner Tom Douple announced the addition of the University of Missouri-Kansas City as its 10th full-time member Thursday. UMKC is set to rejoin the league on July 1, 2020 and all 16 of the Roos’ athletic programs will compete in The Summit League beginning with the 2020-21 academic year. After spending the last seven seasons in the WAC, UMKC will be the sixth team located on I-29.
