"Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value." - Albert Einstein

Summary Statement

My name is Raj Randhawa and I am a Business Administration student with a double concentration in Finance and Decision Sciences. My experience in my upper division finance courses as well as my internship this past summer has reinforced my interest in all things related to finance. After learning various financial concepts, as well as experiencing the industry first-hand, my passion has grown exponentially.

During my first couple years of college, my focus was on developing the necessary skills to succeed in any career path. I was able to develop excellent communication and leadership skills during my time working at Verizon Wireless and on the Executive Board of Cal State Fullerton's Sales Leadership Center. I competed in the 2016 Titan Sales Competition and placed first in the Henry Schein Sales Scenario. These skills allowed me to break into the finance industry as an intern for the wealth management side of Fidelity Investments. However, during my experience in wealth management, I became increasingly interested in portfolio management, and became a member of the CSUF Student Managed Investment Fund. I also recently joined Titan Capital Management as an Equity Analyst Intern.

I am currently developing my skills in financial analysis and portfolio management. Additionally, I am enrolled in the CFA Program and am awaiting my results for the Level 1 Exam which I took this past June (2018).

Upon graduation in Spring of 2019, I am seeking an analyst position in Equity Research or Investment Banking.

California State University Fullerton (Expected Graduation: Spring 2019): Majoring in Business Administration Double Concentration in Finance and Decision Sciences (Finance GPA: 3.90)

Equity Analyst (Titan Capital Management): At Titan Capital Management, I work with a group of 17 other analyst to manage the equity portion of a $1.5 million portfolio donated by the CSUF Philanthropic Foundation. I conduct equity research and financial analysis to find good investment opportunities. This includes building financial models, such as a discounted cash flow model, to value equities. Additionally, I am developing technical skills in tools such as Bloomberg and Excel.

Intern (Fidelity Investments): I interned for the Wealth Management side of Fidelity Investments. I gained extensive knowledge on retirement planning and investment strategy through shadowing of branch financial and investment consultants. Some of my responsibilities included setting up, inputting, and entering days to the brokerage and shareholder system which includes account maintenance, processing checks, disbursements, TOAs, etc. Additionally, I uncovered 100k worth of opportunities with clients by setting appointments for consultants and ultimately business with Fidelity.

Retention Chair (CSUF Sales Leadership Center): As a board member for the Sales Leadership Center, I organized and hosted the "Styled for Success" event partnered with Macy's. Additionally, I participated in the 2016 Titan Sales Competition, where I finished first in the Henry Schein sales scenario and 2nd place overall team champions. My responsibilities included finding social and networking opportunities for SLC students, creating and building relationships with Certificate of Professional Sales(CPS) students, and managing CPS status.

Sales Consultant (Verizon Wireless): Working on the floor at a Verizon Wireless store, I was responsible for meeting sales goals by selling products and services to new and existing customers. I consistently met the quota which included: $7000 GP, 4 New Act-Tablet Sales, and 7 Gross Gains. Additionally, I effectively presented products and services to develop relationships and meet customer needs, handled all administrative aspects of the sale, and stayed up to date with product knowledge, accessories, pricing plans, promotions, and service features through continuous learning and self-development.
