What Makes LCA Athletics Different

We understand that Jesus matters above all else, and people will see Jesus in us by our love.

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. - John 13:34-35

#loveBIG Softball game between LCA and Paris to raise money for local youth.

Charity Basketball game between the LCA Staff and the Lexington Media.

All gate and concessions proceeds went to Kentucky Food Ministry.

KFM was started by LCA student, Aaron Bruner, who uses KFM to love on the homeless population in Lexington.

We believe that we each have a unique story to tell, and those stories can help people find Jesus.

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. - 1 Peter 3:15

We believe that Athletics is a mission field to those around us.

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. - Matthew 5:14-16

We believe in the power of prayer.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. - Ephesians 6:18

Our coaches desire to invest in their teams. They invest in the person, not just the player.

Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it. - Proverbs 22:6

Why our Coaches are at LCA...

I coach at LCA because it allows me to invest in the lives of student athletes. It is a blessing to foster a community of faith and excellence in both basketball and life.

-Haley Lee (Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach)

I coach at LCA because I want to help grow the Lacrosse Program along with helping the young men to become their best individual selves in Christ.

-Taylor McCoun (Varsity Lacrosse Head Coach)

I coach at LCA because I love my guys, and I have been blessed with the opportunity to show them the life-altering lessons that I've learned through Jesus!

- Zac Barnhart (JV Boys Soccer Head Coach/ Athletic Coordinator)

I coach at LCA because it gives me the opportunity to invest in the next generation to grow girls spiritually, athletically and personally. It provides a platform and a place for all of us (coaches and players) to learn traits and skills that will not only help us on the court but also when we leave here to be better women.

-Kirby Willoughby (Varsity Volleyball Head Coach/ Assistant Athletic Director)

We will continue to strive to glorify God through our Athletic Programs and show that as followers of Jesus, we have been changed!
