COLORADO ELEMENTARY

Students in Ms. Williams' class learned how to be flexible and work together as the classroom received a new coat of paint.

-------------------------------------------------

Colorado 4th graders in Ms. Holder's art classes are working on their mandalas!

GRANT ELEMENTARY

The third session of Leadership Lab at Grant is under way! Students kicked off the week by creating artwork inspired by Grant Wood, played a game to learn the water cycle, dove into computer coding, and whipped up healthy snacks with the local Hyvee dietitians!

-------------------------------------------------

Grant Elementary is heading to the Super Bowl - the "Reading" Super Bowl that is! To gear up for next week's FAST reading assessments, MHS football players stopped by during LEAD meeting to talk to kids about the importance of reading, getting good grades, and working hard to be successful from elementary school all the way through high school! A special thanks to our football friends for coming to visit!

-------------------------------------------------

Grant Preschoolers participated in a "snow ball fight" as part of DEAL: Drop Everything And Lead.

MCKINLEY ELEMENTARY

Students at McKinley get to spend "Time with Winnie" when they meet personal goals.

MULBERRY ELEMENTARY

Students at Mulberry were given a reading challenge over the Winter Break. Teachers challenged students to read at least eight times over break, and fifteen minutes each time, while filling out a reading log. Anyone who brought the reading log filled out and signed by a parent, received a pencil and raffle ticket for a special prize. 76 students turned in their reading logs after break, which equals at least 9,120 minutes of reading! Pictured here are the lucky students who won the special prizes! Great job to all our readers!

CENTRAL MIDDLE SCHOOL

Congratulations to our superhero students in 6th grade at Central Middle School. These students have been recognized for working hard, being responsible, and showing strong leadership skills. Keep up the great work!

MUSCATINE HIGH SCHOOL

On January 3rd, EL students in Ms. Phillips' class went to the Palms Theatre to view "Jumanji" as a reward for their hard work and determination in the 1st semester. They were invited based on their final grades, attendance, and good behavior standing. A big shout out to United Way for helping to find sponsors for the movie and to Monsanto and River Rehab for their sponsorship!

DISTRICT-WIDE STAFF

MCKINLEY ELEMENTARY

Principal Joelle McConnaha welcomed teachers and staff back to school after winter break with a cocoa bar!

These teachers at Mulberry survived pick up line duty in the middle of an ice storm, and they're still smiling!
