Student Shout Out!

"Armando Martinez should be commended for his responsible action this morning. He came to the office to pick up his glasses and when he left, there was a man in the foyer trying to get into the double doors. This man was here to pick up a student, but he had never visited the school before so he didn't come to the office door. He pulled on the doors and gestured to Armando to open them. Armando paused but then walked away and I was able to get the man's attention to come to the correct door. It made me so proud that he knew to not open the door!! He needs a hug, or a treat, or something so he knows he did a great job!" ~From Ms. McCoy

Super Staffer

Congratulations to Mrs. Kasandra Elvir, for being selected to be recognized as District Super Staffer! Mrs. Elvir is the Kindergarten - 2nd grade RELA ALT at Timbers Elementary. She is such an amazing support to our staff! She goes out of her way to not only plan, but also model great reading instruction for teachers. She plans the lesson that she will model as if she is doing it with her own class and is willing to go into a teacher's classroom for several days to take the class through the entire lesson cycle with a book. This has not only led to great relationships with teachers, but with our scholars as well. They trust her as a knowledgeable professional and as someone who's willing to get in the weeds with them. That makes a huge difference when it's time to plan reading lessons that will have the most impact on scholar learning, and it has made the adoption of the new curriculum resources just a little bit easier. Her attitude and want to be an amazing resource makes her a super staffer! We are so blessed to have her on our team!

Students will continue to demonstrate self-awareness and personal responsibility through managing emotions an actions.

"Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.” ~Helen Keller

Frozen treats may be purchased from the cafeteria for 75 cents each to be distributed after the children finish their lunch. Please notify the cafeteria at (281) 641-2008 one week prior to the event in order to have enough treats on hand for all interested. If parents wish to bring cupcakes to school, they may do so.
