Some say the world will end in fire-
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire, I hold with those who favor fire..
But if i had to perish twice.
I think i know enough hate.
To say that destruction of ice.
Is also great
And would suffice

The tone of this poem is kind of harsh. The author talks about how he has been through the world ending in fire, but he if he had to perish twice he, he been through enough hate to say the destruction of ice is just as bad or great.

The theme of this pome could be dark, or depressing because ehe expresses how he's been through so much hate that both ice and fire would suffice him.

Ice and fire are symbols in this poem. They act as destruction and hate even tho they are both opposites.
