Today's 98-49 victory was the first meeting between the Wolverines and the Hawks. However, Coach Beilein faced UMES while at West Virginia.
Derrick Walton Jr. has five-plus assists in six games this season including today's five. He leads U-M with 4.1 per game. For his career, he has 359, just seven away from cracking U-M's all-time top 10.
Over his last seven games, Moe Wagner has gone 39-for-52 from the field (75%).
Zak Irvin leads U-M with 13.92 points per game having scored in double figures in 10 games.
The Wolverines had four players reach double digits today: Walton Jr. (21), Robison (17), Wilson (16), and Irvin (11).
Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman had a career-high 10 assists today.
The Wolverines had a season-high 28 assists on their 34 field goals. Eleven players scored for the Maize and Blue today as well as 13 seeing time on the court.
DJ Wilson had a career-high 16 points today and is averaging 8.7 points and 6.9 rebounds per game in what is considered his first full season with U-M.
Duncan Robinson had a season-high points today finishing the night with 17 points.
The Maize and Blue have allowed 60 or fewer points in seven games, including today's 49 points only two more than the season-low 47 against Mount St. Mary's (Nov. 26). Today's 98-49 victory was the 10th largest margin of victory in program history.
