The Health Information Center is located within the main lobby, providing patients, family members and the community with valuable information on the latest health news and free research for specific diseases or illnesses.

The Health Information Center offers an extensive health library, digital and print resources, walk-in asistance, and help with research on specific health conditions—all free of charge.

Donna Doyle - Poet in Residence

As Poet in Residence at Preston Medical Library, Donna Doyle utilizes the library as a focal point for integrating poetry and other expressive arts into the medical center community. She nurtures engagement in the arts by hosting events and exhibits as a way of supporting The University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine's goals of healing, education, and discovery.

Donna joined the Preston Medical Library team in 2008. In addition to her responsibilities as Poet in Residence and Healthy Tips author, she serves as Communications & Programs Coordinator at the Health Information Center - Preston Medical Library.

We research questions for you. This service provides information on health and medical topics such as: Symptoms and treatment of disease Preventive medicine Medical tests Internet resources Educational programs for the general public on locating and evaluating health information We provide information on your questions confidentially by mail or email.

The Health Information Center is a premier resource center that will provide the patients and families of the medical center and area citizens with consumer-level health information, computers and Internet access as well as the services provided by medical librarians certified in consumer health information. Our services include assisting patients and families of patients in finding information on health-related topics as well as providing printed information by mail to consumers.
