Treat yourself to a spring break at The Pierhouse. Do as little or as much as you like and leave the cares of everyday life behind for a few days.
Hidden away in the quiet village of Port Appin on the shores of Loch Linnhe, The Pierhouse is surrounded by the spectacular raw beauty of the magnificent west coast of Scotland - food for the soul.
Even the shortest of strolls from the hotel will place you in a world of seascapes and islands, rock arches and gentle woods dotted with spring flowers, a world of mountains and sky.
Local wildlife includes deer, sea otters, hares, seals, and a vast array of birds including oyster catchers, guillemots, eider ducks, kestrels and sea eagles.
Go for a drive to take in the local sights or head for a day in the hills or a ride around miles of cycle tracks.
Hop on the ferry over to the isle of Lismore for a gentle walk or bike ride - you can hire a bike from the hotel.
For outdoor enthusiasts, there are plenty of hills and lower level walks to enjoy, or take on a satisfyingly long bike ride whether on or off-road.
if you prefer your short break served fireside rather than in the great outdoors, the Resident's Snug (see below and main image) is at your disposal.
The Snug is the perfect place to relax, perhaps accompanied by a cappuccino and a freshly baked scone.
Sit back in the leather couches by the wood-burning stove and immerse yourself in a good book or play a board game - simple pleasures!
The Ferry Bar
The Ferry Bar is the hub of the hotel with its wood-burning stove and fantastic views over the loch. Teas, coffees and our chef's baking are served all day as well as bar meals at lunch and in the evening. For malt whisky and gin enthusiasts, the extensive choice of over 100 malts and an ever-growing selection of Scottish craft gins will keep you entertained.
Our award-winning restaurant is one of Argyll's best-kept secrets. We aim to share our passion for excellent food, wine and service, with dishes simply cooked to perfection and served with unbeatable sea views.
We use only the finest seasonal Scottish seafood, meat, game and vegetables. We work very closely with our local suppliers to achieve exceptionally high standards of quality and fresh ingredients. This is one of the secrets of our success.
Our oysters are hand-picked from Loch Creran oyster beds; mussels and langoustines are harvested from Loch Linnhe and Loch Etive; and our lobsters and crab are kept mouth-wateringly fresh in creels at the end of the pier which guests may view, subject to tides. In addition to seafood, we serve a variety of beautifully fresh local meat and wild game from farms and private estates, as well as vegetarian dishes.
