Nelson Mandela as a Priest

Throughout his life Nelson Mandela advocated for Human Rights. He protested peacefully for what he believed in and tried to spread his message. He became the president of the South Africa which made him the face of human rights in that area which spread his message around the world. Mandela was also imprisoned for his beliefs but he continued to spread his message and fight for what he believed in.

Connection to Jesus' Priesthood

Like Jesus, Mandela spread the message he believed in around the world. He believed in something and wanted to share this message of equality and share the rights that everyone deserved. Priests do this as well. Priests spread God's word and preach their beliefs to everyone. During Jesus' ministry he went to spread his beliefs and share them with people and he gained a following of people who had the same views as him and wanted to spread the same beliefs.

Bible Verse

Mark 3:14 “14 He appointed twelve that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach."

Hebrews 7:26 “Such a high priest truly meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.”
