Maternity Sessions

Scheduling Your Session

The sweet spot for portraits during your pregnancy is typically the 34 weeks mark. This is VERY important. This is usually a point where you look nice and round but have not run into a ton of swelling and are still feeling like yourself and comfortable. If you are very petite or have a very short torso we may want to aim for a little sooner. If you are carrying in a way that makes you feel like you are not showing enough or you have a torso that goes for days we may want to wait until the 36 week mark. Whatever we decide, sooner is always better than later. That also gives me the opportunity to reveal your beautiful gallery before the baby arrives!

Maternity sessions are available during weekdays only and include a follow up meeting for the reveal and purchase of your images. The session fee is $1,050 and that includes: 2 hours of photography (2 outfits) in studio or at a location of your choice within a 50 mile radius of Tampa. I do require professional hair and make up styling and can recommend the perfect artist for you. A full set of digital files is available for purchase and includes a glass box with your 25 favorites as 5x7 prints and USB drive, $800.

I prefer to schedule sessions into sunset if we are shooting outdoors. That is when the light is the most flattering and has the most color. If we are shooting In-Home or at a studio space I tend to aim for the morning or afternoon for ample daylight. I will help to coordinate the logistics of your hair/makeup styling, locations, and overall game plan. Because we live in Florida, the summer months can pose challenges for shooting due to unpredictable storms and intense heat (no one wants to melt in photos!). That being said, I like to stick to scheduling sessions for the fall, winter, and spring seasons. It's best to schedule your session as soon as possible. Of course, I am always happy to accommodate changes if necessary and I do have a weather policy in place.

About the Session

I believe pregnancy is a beautiful and magical time! I am passionate about creating portraits for you and your family that truly resonate with your style and the what this feeling time means to you. Together we will come up with the most inspiring location, wardrobe, and mood for your session.

Location

Maternity sessions can be shot anywhere! You can choose a place of special significance to you such as where you fell in love, doing your favorite activity, or somewhere totally unique and interesting to you! Here are some of my favorite places to shoot...

*Rock Springs/Kelly Park at Wekiva Springs in Orlando FL

In Home

Talk about home field advantage, right? This makes for a beautifully intimate session.

Front & Back Yard

Studio

Editorial style in studio

Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Morris Bridge Park

Woodsy and romantic. Perfect for a rustic, dreamy look.

Downtown Tampa

Architecture is perfect for offering a variety of linear and textured backdrops. It can be sleek and modern or edgy and moody. I love murals and parking garages especially!

Milk Baths

These are SO much fun! It is BYOB (Bring Your Own Bathrub)...if you do'n have a bathtub in your home a great option is to rent an Air BnB, a hotel room, or ask a friend.

We can focus on the milk bath as part of an In-Home session OR you can add it onto your shoot for $400. meaning we would still have our 2 hours session on location but begin or end with this as an add on.

Hair and Makeup

Moms - Be ready for professional hair and makeup with a clean hydrated face and clean ready to style hair. Drink plenty of water to keep the skin fleshy and glowing. I will coordinate with my favorite beauty teams to schedule when/where you will receive services to make sure we begin the session on time. You can expect this to take up to an hour and a half.

Dads - Hair should be neatly groomed. Touching up a scraggly beard goes a long way. Avoid getting a cut closer to 3 days before your session.

What to Wear

You should gather two outfits for your session. Your first look can be casual but still polished. Think about texture, sheen, and flattering shapes. The second look can be more adventurous or formal. I suggest going with either neutrals like blushes and creams or with saturated jewel tones. If you are drawn towards patterns make sure it is on the bigger/bolder side and not too trendy. Bring along other props and accessories like flower crowns and baby shoes if you like and don't forget to get a professional manicure beforehand! Remember, these looks should be a reflection of your personalities. You should feel comfortable and confident!

...or wear nothing at all!

How to Book

When you are ready to commit to a session and reserve a date I will send you an official link to book. It's easy and all online! You will complete an electronic contract and securely pay the non-refundable session fee. During your session we will schedule the best time for your reveal!
