With its latest missile test, North Korea appears to be seeking to overshadow a summit between the leaders of the US and China, putting their relationship to a first, crucial test.
Mr. Trump made it clear that the US was prepared to act alone if China did not do more to tackle the threat from Pyongyang and Kim Jong Un, the North Korean leader.
Mr. Trump and Mr. Xi will probably use another missile test by the North to stress the merits of their conflicting approaches on the North.
China has a bottom line. It will safeguard the security and stability of its Northeast area at all costs. If Washington is serious in strengthening cooperation with Beijing, its policy shouldn't be against Beijing's concerns
