Tim Buton Film Director

Timothy Walter Burton was born on August 25, 1958, in Burbank, California.

He is known for his gothic and dark fantasy films.

He’s a film director, producer, artist, writer, and animator.

Some of Burton's favorite films are Dracula A.D. 1972, The Wicker Man, The Golden Voyage of Sinbad, The War of the Gargantuas, and The Omega Man.

As a kid, he would make short films in his backyard using stop motion animation techniques or shoot them on 8mm film.

Burton’s work is influenced by Dr. Seuss and Roald Dahl.

Some of his films are Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Sweeney Todd, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Alice in Wonderland.

Burton won an Emmy Award, Academy Awards, BAFTA Awards, and many more.

Burton was married to Lena Gieseke 1987-1991. Then he was with Helena Bonham Carter 2001-2014.

With Helena Bonham Carter, he has two kids, Billy Raymond and Nell. Johnny Depp, a friend of Burton, is the godfather of both his kids.
