Fruits

Vegetables are important sources of many nutrients, including potassium, dietary fiber, folate (folic acid), vitamin A, and vitamin C. Eating a diet rich in vegetables and fruits as part of an overall healthy diet may reduce risk for heart disease, including heart attack and stroke. Vegetables provide nutrients vital for health and maintenance of your body.

Protein

It is important to eat 8 ounces of seafood per week. That is that because seafood has lots of nutrition. But so so does meat, poultry, fish, dry beans and peas, eggs, nuts, and seeds. You should have at least some of these things on your food plate when you eat.

Dairy

The nutrition from dairy improves bone health and may reduce the risk of osteoporosis. Also, it may help maintain the health of blood pressure. Make sure to have some dairy on your plate when you eat.

Grains

Dietary fiber from whole grains or other foods, may help reduce blood cholesterol levels and may lower risk of heart disease, obesity, and type 2 diabetes. If you eat whole grains as part of a healthy diet you can reduce the risk of some chronic diseases.
