The girls track and field team competed in the first ever high school track meet at the Wilmore center at Ripon College in the Ripon Showcase meet. With many athletes gone for the upcoming spring break, many athletes got the chance to compete in their first meet and get a great experience.
The 4x400 team of Hanna Nest, Olivia Donahue, Aria Pickard-Gross, and Maddy Brooks rand for a team best 4:43.34 which placed them in 5th.
Splits for each girl are; Nest - 71.6, Danahue - 67.3, Pickard-Gross - 70.3, and Brooks - 74.0.
Leah Napiwocki ran her first ever 200m dash establishing a personal best of 32.13.
Freshamn Olivia Donahue ran for a #9 in Mosinee in the 1600m with a time of 5:59.68. The time placed her 6th scoring her first varsity points. We are excited to see her growth this year as she chases the freshman record of 5:55.75 and more!!!
Jayde Sitko ran 8.68 sec on the 60m dash qualifying her for the finals seeded 7th. Shortly after in the finals she maintained her 7th place by improving her time to 8.62. Jayde's all time best in the event is 8.61 seconds.
Maddy Brooks got her first chance in the 60m dash establishing a personal best of 9.10 seconds.
She also finished up the meeting running anchor and tying her personal best split of 74.0 seconds. The last time she ran that was late last year outdoors!
Aria Pickard-Gross competed in the 60m hurdles, long jump, and 4x400 and impressed in all three. Aria improved her personal best in the Long Jump with a jump of 13'05.5 (7.5" better than one week ago).
Aria also ran 11.94 in the 60m hurdles which puts her #9 in recent years.
She also anchored the 5th place 4x4 by maintaining her sprint form and passing multiple runners to win their heat.
Hanna Nest competed in the high jump and 200m dash in addition to the 4x400m.
Hanna ran 30.79 in the 200m dash. She no heighted at the aggressive opening height of the Showcase meet.
