6th Grade Science -- Help Needed

6th Grade Science is looking for Parent Volunteers! Mrs. Parker and Mrs. Kirby are looking for parents interested in volunteering during our Spring Stream Testing on April 17th. During Stream Testing, 1-2 classes of students (roughly 25-50 students) will be outside visiting a rotation of stations. The Clinton River Watershed Council (CRWC) brings along their own volunteers to help with data and sample collection during Stream Testing, but their job is to help students with the tasks at hand. We would love to have your help and support to assist the teachers and CRWC volunteers in making sure students are being safe while learning and having fun! Should you choose to volunteer, please be sure to dress appropriately for the weather, as well as being near the Gibson Drain (creek behind Larson). It will likely be muddy and wet. LMS Scheduling for 20-21 (Current 6th and 7th)

It’s already time to begin the scheduling process for the 20-21 school year! This year, students will be submitting course requests into PowerSchool Parent Portal and returning completed scheduling cards to their social studies teachers. Mr. Recker and the counselors met with current 6th and 7th graders earlier this week to discuss scheduling details and to distribute scheduling cards. In the meantime, feel free to refer to the videos below, which explain how you will complete the PowerSchool portion of the scheduling process this year. You will be able to enter PowerSchool course requests beginning Wednesday, 2/19 at 3 pm, and requests are due in the online system by Friday, 2/28 at 3 pm. Students should hand in their completed scheduling cards to their social studies teachers by Friday, 2/28 as well.

Volunteers Needed for Disability Awareness

8th Grade Washington D.C. Trip

Attention parents of current 7th graders-- there is still plenty of time to sign up for our 8th grade trip to Washington DC. We are so excited to add new activities and a new hotel to our itinerary. We look forward to great weather with our fall departure! See the attached flyer or contact Mrs. Lee (jlee@troy.k12.mi.us) with any questions. It's always a great time with great memories for our kids.

Diversity Club Activity

The LMS Diversity Club will also be hosting a Cultural Food Fest during the Celebration of Learning on May 20th. We are looking for volunteers to donate a dish (appetizer, entrée, side or dessert) representative of their culture. Donations should serve 10-15 people (sample size, not a full portion). Please click on the link below to participate: If you have questions about participation, please reach out to Mrs. Field, Mrs. Stys or Mrs. Garavanta.

LMS PTO Update

In addition, the LMS PTO gladly welcomes donations, which are tax-deductible. All funds go directly back to student programs and teacher grants. Donations can be dropped off in the LMS main office.
