Smith Science Olympiad Announcement

Our Science Olympiad teams performed very well this past weekend with our Primary team beating all other Oakland county rivals by a decent margin.

Congratulations to new Oakland County Science Olympiad champions - Smith Knights!!!

Team placed in 22 out of 23 events it participated winning numerous top medals. We couldn't have asked for better way to end a successful invitational season.

Similarly secondary team consisting predominantly of 6th graders placed 4th behind Baker, Boulan, and Birmigham Covington schools.

We are also happy to share the glory with other troy area teams ( Baker- 2nd, Boulan Park -3rd, Larson 6th) all making it to next round - State Championships on April 26th.

Full credit for our success goes to students, their parents who coached days after days and the rest of our student's family members who played a vital role in transporting kids, adjusting their schedules including super busy weekends for 6 months.

We also want to thank Troy High Students ( and past members of Smith Scio team ) - Meera Manek, Madhavan Iyengar, Aditi Prabhu, Shashank Padagala, and Dipika Rao who helped in several events by coaching, providing tips, and testing. Like a true SCIO family !!!
