Arch 1

End product for arch 1
  1. First, take your yard stick out and place 8 popsicle sticks in a straight line. (Should be 40 inches long)
  2. Next, take 7 more popsicle sticks and overlap on top of where each one of the popsicle sticks meet one another.
  3. Then, take your bottle of Elmers Glue and applie Glue to each stick; then, press them together for about 5 seconds.
  4. Afterward, take one paper clip and put it on each one of the popsicle sticks where they are glued together.
  5. Repeat step 4 until entire 40 inches are glued and held together.
  6. Repeat steps 2-5 on the back side of sticks.
  7. Let dry over night or until you glue is dry.
  8. Now grab 11 more sticks and place in an arch shape.
Should resemble this.
  1. Once 11 popsicle sticks are layed out in arch form (reference picture above), overlap one stick over each space they meet each other. (Should take 10 about popsicle sticks)
  2. Next, take your bottle of glue and glue each stick to one another.
  3. Take paper clips and put on every popsicle stick to hold them to one another.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 on the back side of the arch.
  5. Let dry overnight or until your glue is dry.
  6. Once everything is dry, take end of the line of sticks you made in steps 1-5, and the end of the arch made in steps 1-5, and place glue on the end of each one(press and hold together for roughly 5-10 seconds), then take one paper clip for each side and place it on the end.
  7. Let dry over night.
  8. Repeat every previous step to create another arch.

Middle support beams

End product of middle support beams.
  1. Start with 2 sticks (one for each for each side) place at the far end of the arch.
  2. Next, from of the top of the previous stick you just placed (step 1), angle the next stick in a downward slant. (Make sure it reaches the bottom of the arch) (repeat step for each side)
  3. Then, from the bottom of that stick ( step 2) place 3 sticks in the parallel line going to straight to the top of the arch. (2 of the sticks should overlap to create right length to reach bottom of arch)(repeat step for other side)
  4. From where the last row of sticks meets the top of the arch place 3 sticks in a downward angle to reach the bottom of the arch. (Repeat step for other side)
  5. Next, from where the last row of sticks meet the bottom of the arch take 3 popsicle sticks and place in a straight line going to the top of the arch. (2 sticks may overlap to creat the right length)(repeat step for other side)
End of next step
  1. Next, take 7 sticks and place in an X formation. ( follow picture above)
  2. Once every thing is layed out and looks similar to the picture glue every stick to each other.
  3. Then, paper clip them to hold them together and let dry overnight.
  4. Finally, repeat every step under the Middle Support Beam section on the second arch.

Connecting Archs 1 and 2

Final bridge
  1. Start, by placing 2 styrofoam sheets in the middle of both archs.
  2. Next, start along the bottom of the bridge about every 2-3 inches take a popsicle stick and a rubber band, then hold the popsicle stick to the bottom of both arch, loop the rubber band to both sides of the stick (should hold itself in place) then place glue on both spots the stick touches the arch.
  3. Repeat step 2 along the bottom of the archs.
  4. LET DRY OVERNIGHT.
  5. Repeat step 2 over top of the arch, make sure to leave a gap to pull styrofoam out of.
  6. Let dry overnight.
  7. Once dry remove styrofoam from gap.
  8. Congratulations!! You have finished making your bridge!!
