Allergan IT Compliance Internship

  • The CIO is a family friend and has told me a lot about the company
  • Fast paced company with lots of inventions and new technologies
  • CIO was helping my mom find a new job and found one in Anda
  • Anda is a generic brand company, but Allergan just sold off all of their generics to Teva.
  • Also, in 2015 Allergan merged with Pfizer
I will be talking about the company profile, the internship profile, why I am qualified and what I want out of this internship. Now, Allergan is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, and is a bold, global pharmaceutical company. Allergan is focused on developing, manufacturing and commercializing branded pharmaceuticals, devices and biologic products for patients around the world.
Allergan was both generics and brand name medicines, but recently they have sold off all generics. Allergan is best known for BOTOX, which makes about 2 billion a year in revenue. They are now moving into clinical trials using BOTOX to treat Major Depressive Disorder in adults as well as figuring out new technologies that help slow down Alzheimer's disease. In 2015, Allergan merged with Pfizer and together have become a powerhouse in the pharmaceutical market.

"Allergan markets a portfolio of best-in-class products that provide novel treatments for the central nervous system, eye care, medical aesthetics and dermatology, gastroenterology, women's health, urology, anti-infective and cardiovascular therapeutic categories"

The internship includes assisting the director in the development and execution of all compliance initiatives. I will help manage several initiatives with other IT departments while staying consistent with laws and regulations. I will also maintain data, monitor compliance, and analyze user requirements to improve performance within the company.
I am majoring in Information Systems and minoring in Innovation. I am a fast learner, understand Microsoft office and some Adobe software. I am also able to delegate and follow all office rules. Although, I am still learning about my Information Systems major, my interest in technology and drive to learn make me a great fit for the internship.
This internship will help me understand what I want to do with my career. I am interested in the IT side of business, but I am not 100% sure it’s what I want. I am excited to start the process of applying and hopefully landing the internship.
