What is imperialism?

Imperialism is when a small country gets taken over by a bigger country. It started happening a lot after the Industrial revolution when European nations where searching for raw materials.

Examples of Imperialism


Britain is notorious for taking things over. There have be many times Britain has shown done Imperialism. One important event was when British took over the U.S. The thirteen colonies is a great example of imperialism. The British took over the east coast of the U.S. This is an example of Imperialism because Britain is notably power powerful than the U.S at the time so it was easy for them to take over from the Indians.


France is another place who shows Imperialism a lot. They took over Canada. This shows imperialism because France was more powerful than Canada.


Russia tried to take over Alaska. They were successful with their attempt. This is imperialism because Russia is really powerful while Alaska is weak.


Spain has been around and taken over lots of places. Some being Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, and Chile. These are all examples of imperialism because Spain is more powerful than all of them and took them over.
