Dreams By jennifer chavez

Universal Theme: Trying to achieve your dreams can sometimes be dangerous or people may end up getting hurt.

Of Men And Men

"Someday we're gonna get the jack together and we're gonna have a little house and a couple of acres an' a cow and some pigs......."

This explains how George and Lennie have always been dreaming about getting a farm together. They wanted to leave weed and get a job to afford the house. George promised Lennie that if they got a farm there would be rabbits on the farm.

The Chrysanthemums

"Far ahead on the road Elisa saw a dark speck, she knew...... He might have thrown them off the road....... He had to keep the pot."

This shows how Elisa loved her flowers and to see them on the road hurt her because she dreamed of her flowers to be treated with respect. Also, her flowers meant everything to her cause she was always working on her flower garden.

Tularecito

"The heart of Tularecito gushed with joy at his homecoming. All his life he had been an alien, a lonely outcast, and now he was going home."

This shows how Tularecito always dreamed about being normal . This also shows how he always wanted to find his family and find out where he belonged beacause everyone thought he was an animal and didn't belong with them.

Why is this relevant today ?

Knowing that you tried to achieve your dream is better than knowing you didn't try. These days dreams are still applicable to basically everyday life because if you don't try to reach your dreams or goals you're basically thriving to a dead end zone. For example relating to the motif: Nash Grier tried to chase his dreams of being a famous person but instead he ended up hurting a lot of people by his actions and things he said .
