Art I

This was me drawing myself for an art pretest. We took about 20 minutes to look in mirror to draw ourselves.
This was a hand drawing for a pretest. We had to draw our hands for about 10 to 20 minutes with only looking a couple times.
For this year I set a goal to be happy with myself and do the best I can at everything. You should never strive to be something you are not.
This is where we took a picture off of a magazine and copied it 5 times onto a pice of paper and displayed the elements of art
This is where we created the principles of art on a pice of paper by cutting out scraps of different colored paper and arranged them in certain ways.

This is a circle made in the chiaroscuro. chiaroscuro is where you use light and dark values to create the illusion of 3 dimensions
This is a practice circle made in the chiaroscuro to practice making 3d figures. chiaroscuro is where you use light and dark values to create the illusion of 3 dimensions.

we created cones and cylinders with the light source coming from different angles.
These cubes where created in one point prospective. This is where you things appear to get small aa they converge on one point.
This is a cube drawn in 2 point prospective. This is created by drawing 2 points and drawing lines towards the square to create the cube
This is a practice gesture drawing where we practice drawing the lines for a gesture drawing
This is a gesture drawing where a classmate made three different movements and we had five minutes to draw each pose.

This is where we were practicing different types of lines that made you think of different things.
This is a contour line drawing of the outline of our own shoe.
This was a contour line drawing created to look like an animal skull. We placed an animal skull on a table and created a contour line drawing out of water color.
This is a mannequin made in exercise. We placed a mannequin on a table and modeled it. This exercise was to see the proportions of a human.
These where eyes I drew to show different expressions and make different types of eyes to learn how to draw eyes.

This was learning to create noses and trying to draw noses from different angles and drawing different sizes.
Lips made in the chiaroscuro style. This is when I was learning to create noses and I was trying to do different thicknesses an expressions.
This was my drawing of an ear in chiaroscuro style. The front view dod not turn out so well but the side vies did.
This is my rough draft for my analogous color scheme portrait. I chose orange because it represents energy and excitement.
We created a washboard with spray colors. Mine was made to look like an orange explosion. I chose an orange analogous color scheme because orange represents energy, excitement, enthusiasm, creativity, fascination, and happiness.
This was my digital collage. The clouds represent freedom along with the dolphin, which represents freedom, playfulness, and intelligence. The otter is my spirit animal. The sun represents energy. The flower and the rainbow represent beauty and happiness.
This was where someone from a puppet making place came and taught us how to make the penguins, and helped us make them.
These are the penguins we cut out and made out of card board. we also put wooden bars on the bak afterwards so people can hold them.
This is one of our penguins standing next to one of the baby penguins we made after they were painted.
This is one of the penguins that we made on top a background.
This was our penguins doing a dance in the puppet show one home.
This pice is called the Japanese footbridge. It was created with oil on canvas created Victoria Nebeker Coberly. I chose this painting because what I see in it is the beauty of nature which is represented by the lily pads and all of the beautiful plants, but also the stability and structure of it which is represented by the bridge.

Art II

This was a dadaist game played to show how child like art portrays that wars is childlike. There is a tall orange with hair that flows off to the left as well as a tin foil hat. The orange head transitions into a cat mouth that is wide open waiting to eat a bird. The mouth moves into a shrivelled up stomach with a skinny crab arm. Further down in the pice the creature is wearing small jean shorts with orange legs. Below the monsters knees are large red dots on his legs. There is a change in texture where the mouth of the creature starts because the normal human face transitions into a cat face. The use of the color orange was to try to bring together all of the different sections of this artwork to make it one unified picture. Value is used to give the creature form, which makes the character look less like a picture and more like a unified creature. There is a lot of emphasis on the cat mouth. The meaning of this art is to show how different thing in the world can come together to make something beautiful. I think this is the meaning because the illustrator joins multiple different things to make one beautiful piece of work. The illustration shows how different things come together to make one beautiful thing which can inspire unity. I think this work is well designed because it uses all of the elements and principles of art to try to join different pieces of art to make one beautiful thing that all flows together and creates amazing unity.
This pice depicts a person with a book sitting on a tree. The tree has no roots and it has google hanging off of the branches. color is flowing out of the book and giving color and life to everything around it. This shows how imagination gives life and beauty to everything around it. The world would be so bleak and bland without having any imagination. The branches do not have leaves to show how many parts of imagination have not been explored. Google sits on these unexplored areas of imagination to show how you can go anywhere on google.
The story that I illustrated was the story of why I moved to Texas from Louisiana. When I lived in Louisiana hurricane Katrina came through where I lived. Before the hurricane hit landfall my family and I went to go stay in Texas with some family members while the hurricane blew through. When we came back from Texas a tree had fallen over onto our house and split the house in half. My parents decided to move to Texas. The large cloud represents hurricane Katrina and all of the water represent all of the flooding. The road leads to Texas to show how this natural disaster lead to me moving to Texas. The sky cleared up on the way to Texas to show how it was a fresh start away from what happened in Louisiana Every time i had moved in the past each time i moved got harder and harder on me.
When i first got my dog, my dad took him to the vet and the vet told my dad that he was supposed to die before he was a year old. My dad never told me or my mom that he was supposed to die. He only recently told us that he was supposed to die after eight years. I wanted to paint my dog next to a tree and there be a grave next to a dead side of a tree. This idea was never implemented into the artwork because i had to make the dog much larger to make him the main focus of the pice.

He only recently told us that he was supposed to die after eight years. This is what inspired me to paint my dog. I painted this piece in water color because i wanted to try something new. the tree represents the balance of life and death. The rainbow represents the miracle of life and how it is a miracle that he is still alive.
I chose water color because it can express the beauty of life.
I wanted to see how well i could draw hands with my eyes closed
Acrylic
Watercolor

I feel that i have grown so much this semester through using all new mediums such as acrylic and linoleum. I thing the experience with water color was definitely my favorite because I learned how to blend, make textures, and know how the medium flows. I feel that that experience definitely improved my knowledge about water color. if i did that project again, it would definitely be better than the last. Also i would love to use the linoleum medium because now i know how to make different textures and i know how much time certain things will take. I was also rushed because i was a week behind all of the other people in the class. This class has given me so many experiences that i will never forget and helped me develop as an artist. I feel like i have gone from making sub par art to starting to learn things about how i make art unique and my own style.
