St. Ignatius of Loyola By: alex ryan

St. Ignatius of Loyola was born on October 23, 1491, in Azpeitia, Spain.
Before Ignatius died in 1556, his order established 35 schools and boasted 1,000 members. The order was responsible for much of the work of stopping the spread of the Protestant Reformation.
Today, the Society of Jesus is known for its work in educating the youth around the world.

Ignatius was beatified by Pope Paul V on July 27, 1609, and canonized by Pope Gregory XV on March 12, 1622.

The church will learn from the reformation in that we will learn that we will never abuse the good people of the church.
