SWAG - "seven ways to achieve greatness"

We continue to focus on SWAG which is a part of our House model. The current SWAG term is FIERCE!

FIERCE- Every great achievement began in the mind of one person. They dared to dream and believe that it was possible. Don’t let negative thinking discourage you. Be a FIERCE student. Your dream needs to be big. It needs to be something that is seemingly beyond your capabilities, but it also must be believable. Now go get it, go make it happen. Work to make your dreams a reality.

7th Grade students, Christopher Castillo and Allison Marroquin, being FIERCE as our Writers of the Unit winners!

AVID Events

avid at mcginnis

AVID students participated in a mock trial during ancient Greek times in Mr. Vazquez's Social Studies class. Miss Parlamis was a Greek woman accused of a crime and there was a public hearing with a jury and students had to determine if she was guilty or innocent. Miss Parlamis (Greek herself) explained the woman's Greek outfit/costume she was wearing as part of the cultural aspect of the lesson.

The students in Mr. Vazquez's class had a great time learning and participating in the mock trial and being able to see first hand what a democratic government consist of. They loved all of the cultural information they gained from Miss Parlamis' explanation.
