This is the story about a girl named Hope.
At 8 years old, Hope had never had a Christmas tree.
And that may seem unusual to most but Hope's family is less fortunate than most. Never the less, they all loved one another very much.
Now every year Hope wished for a Christmas tree and every year their house was without one. They just could not afford it.
Well one day as Hope was walking through the neighborhood she past the community garden.
During the summer months the community garden was bustling with neighbors all busily tending the garden.
But today is was quiet as Christmas was only a few of weeks away.
As she passed the garden she notice a sign posted at the entrance. The sign read "Christmas at the Community Garden" everyone welcome!
But of particular interest to Hope were the words, "This year's door prize is a Christmas tree." She couldn't believe her eyes.
So on the day of the event she arrived with fingers crossed. As she stood next to the Christmas tree just before the drawing she could be heard saying, "I hope I win-I've never had a Christmas tree before."
And much to her delight as well as the rest of the neighbors, Hope's name was picked! And there was joy in Hope's heart.
So as a few of the neighbors figured out a way to get the tree to her home, other residents went shopping for a tree stand, lights and ornaments. Afterall, she had never had a Christmas tree.

But that's not the end of our story.

When the neighbors arrived at her home with the lights and ornaments, they realized how little this family had and immediately rounded up donated toys, clothes, and food for the entire family and delivered them shortly before Christmas.
Hope had never had a Christmas tree before. But now, her entire family had a Christmas Tree and all the trimmings all because of Hope.

Merry Christmas Everyone!
