NIONOVA PICKS UP SSC WEEKLY HONOR ... Sasha Nionova has been selected as the Sunshine State Conference Women's Tennis Player-of-the-Week as announced by the league office. In her only match of the week, Nionova, ranked 32nd in the Division II, upset 7th-ranked Zuza Maciejewska of No. 3 Barry University. – Read more. BASEBALL SWEEPS ECKERD TO RUN WIN STREAK TO 13 GAMES ... Jason Sierra hit two of the Moccasins' seven homers in the series as Florida Southern swept Eckerd in a three-game Sunshine State Conference set Friday and Saturday at Henley Field. FSC hit two homers Friday night and took game one, 6-2, behind an eight-strike performance by Logan Browning. In game one on Saturday, FSC sent three more shots over the outfield wall and added five doubles in a 16-6 win, while in game two, Chase Pilato struck out seven Eckerd batters in a 8-1 victory. (Recaps - Friday | Saturday). The 19th-ranked Moccasins take a 21-6 overall record and a 13-game win streak into tonight's game at Flagler in St. Augustine. FSC is in second place in the SSC with a 6-3 mark.

MEN'S LACROSSE UPSETS #15 SAINT LEO ... Tyler Kopen scored five goals and Seth Leonard tallied seven points as Florida Southern College men's lacrosse knocked off No. 15 Saint Leo on Friday in the Sunshine State Conference opener at University Turf Field. WOMEN'S LACROSSE OPENS SSC PLAY ... The 5th-ranked FSC women's lacrosse team must think it is in Vegas, scoring 21 goals in each of its last two wins. After topping Seton Hill, 21-10 last Saturday, the Moccasins began defense of their SSC Championship with a 21-4 trouncing of Saint Leo this past Saturday. MEN'S TENNIS SINKS SAILFISH ... Florida Southern battled Palm Beach Atlantic through a trio of three-set matches to defeat visiting Palm Beach Atlantic, 6-3, at the Wynne Warden Tennis Complex. The win, FSC's seventh in its last nine matches, improves the No. 38 ranked Moccasins' record to 8-6 overall and 2-1 in Sunshine State Conference – Read more. SOFTBALL SWEPT BY SAINT LEO ... Saint Leo scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to seal a 4-1 win over FSC in the opening game of a three-game conference series at the Auburndale Softball Complex.
