Marciana is a DJ project from Marcia, a Brazilian based in The Netherlands, who is also known as Back to Mars.
Having started her journey as DJ Back to Mars in 2001, she soon was also playing sets in more styles. At first with Lounge, Ambient, NuJazz, Funk, Brazilian, Jazz and World Music, she quickly incorporated Tech-House, Deep House, Deep Techno and Psy-Techno to her repertoire. It became a natural development to create a separate project to represent these styles and Marciana was created.
She held residencies in various Amsterdam spots like Nomads, Supperclub Cruise, Siberie, Kashmir Lounge, Little Buddha, Barney's Uptown and Kokopelli, and has been playing around The Netherlands and abroad, at Sassafras, Pllek, Roest, Club Lite, Blijburg, Magneet Festival, Bevrijdings Festival, Green Vibrations Festival, Psy-Fi Festival in Holland, Club Charlotte in Germany, MoDem Festival in Croatia, O.Z.O.R.A. Festival in Hungary, Hadra Festival in France, Own Spirit Festival in Spain, Free Earth Festival in Greece, Transition Festival in Spain and Gaggalacka Festival in Germany.
Being an eclectic DJ, Marciana creates a link between the music and the public, where the vibe of the people get translated into her sets and manifested on the spot.
