Diabetes is is both hereditary (germ cells) and environmental (somatic cells). Type 2 is caused by not eating right and not getting enough exercise. Eating healthy foods and exercising can help to fix this condition. Some symptoms of diabetes may be fatigue, increased hunger and thirst, nausea, ect.
Heart disease can be both hereditary and acquired. Therefore, it is caused by both germ and somatic cells. Heart disease can be caused by multiple things such as unhealthy diet, lack of exercise, smoking, being overweight, ect. Some symptoms of this condition are sweating, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, ect. There are multiple types of heart disease: Inflammatory heart disease, Cerebrovascular disease, ect.
Skin cancer is an environmental condition that is effected by somatic cells. It is caused by ultra-violet rays from the sun, but can also be acquired by tanning beds or x-rays. Tumors can be either benign or malignant. Some of the most common skin cancers include melanoma and Squamous cell carcinoma. Radiation therapy is often used to treat these cancers.
PKU is a genetic disease and a recessive trait that is formed by germ cells. It can result in severe Hyperphenylalaninemia (elevated concentrations of the amino acid phenylalanine in the blood). Dieting can help this condition and get the blood flowing. PKU is found in proteins and some artificial sweeteners. If not treated, PKU could cause severe brain damage or even death.
