My name is Brendan Durkin I am from Caldwell, New Jersey. I have two older brothers and one older sister. I come from an Irish Catholic family that is comprised of lawyers and politicians. I grew up following the footsteps of my brothers, I played the same sports and attended the same schools as them. Through them i was introduced to the music, films, and literature I surrounded myself with today.
I listen to a variety of music, but my main genre is Rock and Roll. From the early days of African American Blues artists in the 1950s such as BB King, Bo Diddley, and Chuck Berry inspiring the 1960 British invaders such as John Lennon, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Robert Plant, and Jimmy Page to revolutionize music and create the creative explosion of Rock and Roll. The New York City 1970 punk scene including bands such as the Ramones, The New York Dolls, and The Velvet Underground. The emergence of thrasher metal in the 1980s led by Metallica and Megadeath. Followed by the birth of grunge in the 1990s creating bands like Nirvana, AudioSlave, and Pearl Jam and the rebirth of 60s rock and roll with Oasis. Ending with the rebirth of 1970s garage rock in the 2000s led by The Strokes. All these artists and more have grown to be the center of my artistic influence.
