CSSC Sports and Leisure

CSSC Sports and Leisure is a non-profit organisation membership available to all staff for a small monthly fee.

It includes free entrance to a number of sites, discounted cinema tickets, a free Tastecard and a whole host of other benefits.

As well as being an employee of the Corporation of London, you are also a valued member of the School community which means that you are able to make the most of the wonderful resources and facilities on the School site.

Staff Circuits

Staff Circuits run on a Wednesday morning where there is demand. The session starts at 7:30am and is run in the Conditioning Room on Fencing Salle. Email sam.dorrington@cityoflondonschool.org.uk to express interest

Conditioning Room

The Conditioning Room is available for staff to use whenever it is free. It is usually quite busy before school and during the working day, but tends to much quieter after 4:30pm.

Swimming

Access to the swimming pool is complicated due to the comprehensive water polo programme. The pool is usually free between 4:30pm and 5:30pm for staff to use, however, staff are not allowed to swim alone. Please contact bjs@cityoflondonschool.org.uk to confirm availability.

Running

Staff are obviously welcome to make use of our fantastic location to stretch their legs whenever they wish and there are a number of keen runners who already do this. Should you wish to run with some company, there is a Running Club which run on a Thursday lunchtime. Email paa@cityoflondonschool.org.uk for more information.

Staff Football

There is a regular staff football session on the Top Playground every Monday from 6pm until 7pm. All are welcome to attend. Email jps@cityoflondonschool.org.uk to express interest.

Go Mammoth

The School also hosts Go Mammoth sports leagues on a Wednesday evening. You can enter a netball or football team, or play as an individual at a reduced rate as an employee of the City of London School.

Sports Therapy

We are lucky enough to have an excellent sports therapist at the School. Although the vast majority of Sam's work is with the pupils, he is happy to give consultations, advice and referrals for all staff. He is also developing an mobile application to advise on injuries. As well as supporting your physical wellbeing, there are a number of ways that you can ensure your mind stays healthy too.

Levene Learning Centre

You are welcome to use the Levene Learning Centre whenever you wish to work or read. The catalogue of books and resources can be found on the Staff Intranet.

Counselling and Wellbeing

While the School Counselling Team and Pastoral and Wellbeing Advisor are employed to support our pupils, they can also offer advice to staff. They are happy to be a sounding board and can be especially helpful for suggesting next steps or referring you for additional support.

Medical Centre

The School Nurse is available for pupils and staff alike. You are welcome to drop in to see him or email dieter.aretz@cityoflondonschool.org.uk to find a suitable time. He will be able to offer confidential medical advice or emergency treatment.

John Carpenter Bookshop

All staff are welcome to use the John Carpenter Bookshop for book, stationary and cards. Tim is also very happy to order specific books in for you. His email address is tim.osbourne@cityoflondonschool.org.uk.
