The First African American President Barack Hussein Obama

On February 10th 2007...

Barack Obama, a junior united states senator, announced his candidacy for president of the united states. Although his run was not an easy one, many times Obama had to fight neck and neck battles with the other big democratic nominee at the time who just happened to be Hillary Clinton. In the end though due to Obama's popularity with many americans and securing the required amount of delegates on August 27th Obama was awarded with the democratic presidential nomination.

And then began the race for President of the united states

Obama Vs. McCain the race of 08'

When all was said and done in the nomination process Its was Brack Obama representiing the democratic party and John McCain representing the republican camp. there where a few key events that really mattered in the outcome of the election, one of them being Obama's Middle easter and European tour in which he reached out to thousands of people to dicuss his several policess. Another deciding factor of the race was the presidental debates which helps undecided voters try to pick a side. In my opinion though the most important of all the factors was the finical crisis of 2008, If you have been living under a rock for the past 9 years the finacal crisis of 2008 affected millions of americans many lost there jobs and if they where lucky enough only recived major pay cuts. This is where Obama's famous "HOPE" posers and slogans came in

Ultimately Obama would win the presidental election and on January 20th 2009 he was sworn in and became the 44th president of the United states of america and the first african american president to ever live.

The First 100 days

A President's 100 days are some of the most important since they can show what kind of president the american people picked will be. Need less to say Obama got right to work, Right away he issued and order suspending orders put in last minute by the bush adminstration. Many of his first actions where to rectfiy policys made by bush regarding the September 11th attacks. Also he suspended any things related to Guantanamo bay and banned the use of excessive torture like water boarding. In addtion he also passed bills regarding health care, land and fair pay among other things. Most importantly of all was the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) a bill but in place to help aid the great recession.

The end of Osama bin laden

Throughout the bush administration Al-Qaeda and their leader Osama bin laden had cause many problems for the united states. The Obama administration had received info in July of 2010 on the possible whereabouts of bin laden. Eventually they were able to confirm that this was indeed correct intel and the Obama administration launched the operation that ended the terror of bin laden.

"Tonight, I can report to the American people and to the world that the United States has conducted an operation that killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of al-Qaeda, and a terrorist who's responsible for the murder of thousands of innocent men, women, and children."
The 2012 Election

On April 4 2011, Obama announced that he would seek re-election in the 2012 presidential election. He did not face any opastion from the democratic party. The republicans this time elected former Governor Mitt Romney of Massachusetts to be the nomenee. Obama won the re-election with 332 (out of a total of 538) electoral votes and maintanied the role of president of the united states

2016 Election and Transtion

The 2016 election was a crazy one to say the least. Barack Obama endorsed the democratic nominee Hillary clinton in the race of 2016. Although on November 8th 2016 it was announced that donald trump would win the election and be the the 45th president of the united states, someone Obama strongly opposed although the transition process has been smooth thus far and as of january 20th 2016 Barack obama will no longer be the president of the united states serving 2 terms in 8 years

His Legacy will never be forgotten
