Principal's Post

5.3.19 - It is hard to believe that we only have five weeks left! I have no doubt that they are going to fly by, too.

As we come to the end of the PSSA season, I need to commend our students for their hard work. I am certain that our kiddos gave these assessments their all and showed off what they know. The staff did a great job of maintaining a positive and calm testing environment. I am thankful the tremendous team effort and am excited to see the results in a few months.

We have begun honoring students that demonstrate the Habits of Mind. Students that are nominated have their name announced during the morning announcements and have their picture taken. We are excited to celebrate these students that are truly Mindful Mustangs! Check out the Mindful Mustang section below

There are plenty of fun things coming up in the month of May. Check back frequently for updates and pictures!

5.14.19 - Last week we celebrated our teachers and nurses for all that they do for our children. I would be remiss if I didn't take the time to express my gratitude for their daily efforts. Our teachers and nurses are responsible for more than just delivering lessons and Band-aids. They support and encourage our Mustangs on tough days while celebrating the successes on good days. They work to foster collaboration and positive relationships while mediating peer conflicts. They balance individualized, student-focused activities while delivering assessments. They analyze data, attend weekly professional development, participate in conversations about best practices, Tweet, post pictures, respond to concerns, answer questions, decorate hallways, solve mysteries, locate lost lunchboxes and the list goes on and on. All that being said, they are the reason that our building is the positive and safe learning environment that it is. Thank you to our teachers and nurses for making Springton Manor a special place for our students.

I also want to extend a thank you to all the parents that helped to make it a special week for our staff members. Whether you sent in food, delivered plants, cleaned up the faculty room or had your child dress in their teacher's favorite color, thank you for going out of your way to help our teachers and nurses feel appreciated.

End of the Year Habits

Keep an eye out for evidence of these habits being demonstrated at home. Identifying them you see them and situations when they could be applied will help your child understand their importance. We look forward to a continued partnership on this Habits of Mind journey.

5th Grade Parents - Marsh Creek Presentation
