The Office of the Apostle
The ministry of the Apostle is one that is much misunderstood. An apostle helps to explain and describe modes and moves of the Holy Spirit. He presents teachings and applications that sensitize the body of Christ to the presence and movements of the Holy Spirit. An apostle imparts spiritual gifts.
In the early Church, there were ministry-teams “sent out” to various places who could be referred to as “apostolic teams” or “apostolic companies”. They were “sent ones” to fulfill certain tasks in either pioneering or establishing local fellowships.
"And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone: In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit." Eph. 2:20-22

Office of the Prophet
God speaks to His people by the ministry of the prophets. A prophet is a person who is given the distinctive ministry of representing God before man. The prophet is God’s mouthpiece, through which the Word of God flows.
Our purpose is to impart, activate, and release the Body of Christ to flow prophetically in their prophetic gift and develop a community of prophetic believers who hear what the voice of God is saying.
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets. Hebrews 1:1

The Office of the Evangelist
Purpose: to engage every believer in the great commission to go, to mentor, and equip, thus becoming fishers of men by going beyond the four walls of the local fellowship.
Our mission is to preach the gospel, to reach the lost, to set captives free, and to bring good tidings to the down-trodden, with the goal of advancing the kingdom.
Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Mat 28:19

The Office of the Shepherd
As with all ministries, Christ is indeed the Shepherd. He is the Shepherd of God’s sheep. There must be a distinct call to shepherd God’s people.
A Shepherd will be recognized by having upon him a distinct love and pastoral charisma. He is a feeder, a gatherer, a leader, a carrier of the lambs, and a ruler.
He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young. Isaiah 40:10-11
All shepherds are not apostles, prophets, evangelists, or teachers. There are some persons who have a distinct pastoral call different from yet related to the other four of the fivefold ministries.

The Office of the teacher
The Teacher “grounds” and equips the saints through their gifted teaching ability. Teachers re-emphasize the vision of the house and bring balance & clarity with the Word of God. They also use their gift to break up the fallow ground and lay a firm foundation.
Teachers are endowed by Jesus Christ to teach the scriptures. They have the God-given ability to interpret the meaning and application of the scriptures. This is the primary function of the teacher: to teach!
And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. 2 Timothy 2:2
