SCP Brackets for good Help support St. Louis College Prep's Athletic Department!

St. Louis College Prep is competing in the 2017 St. Louis Brackets For Good competition to help raise funds to support its Athletic Department. St. Louis College Prep is in the midst of building a quality interscholastic athletics program at our middle and high schools. In 2015, we began the first year of this program, and offered both cross country and basketball in grades 7-9. This year we have added spring track and have significantly grown both our basketball and cross country programs. Our school will continue to add a class until we have a full high school, grades 9-12. Our athletics program is a key part of working to develop our scholars in the values of character, teamwork, grit, goal-setting and achievement through interscholastic competition. But our scholar-athletes, many of whom come from some of the most disadvantaged areas of the city, can not compete effectively if they cannot make it to the game or meet. So, with your help, we are working to raise funds to revamp our athletic department transportation system to ensure our scholar athletes can just focus on doing their best on the court or field.

Q. What is Brackets For Good (aka “BFG”)?

A. Brackets For good is the sport for nonprofits. Inspired by college basketball brackets, Brackets For Good is a charitable, online fundraising tournament where up to 64 hand-selected, local nonprofits with a 501(c)3 status in good standing compete for donations while earning increased awareness along the way. All participating nonprofits have a chance at winning $10,000 unrestricted grant courtesy of the tournament’s presenting sponsor.

Q. How does it work?

A. Picture the annual college basketball tournament in March. Now, replace the teams with nonprofits. Organizations go head-to-head in a single elimination, bracket-style fundraising tournament at During each week-long round donors visit, select the nonprofits they wish to support, and donate money to help them advance to the next round ($1 = 1 Point). At the end of each round the nonprofit with more points advances and the points reset.

Why does SCP need your support?

SCP is working to raise over $10,000 to help cover transportation costs for our athletics department in 2017-18 school year. The school spends thousands of dollars each year just getting our scholars to basketball, track and cross country competitions. With 400 people donating just $25, we can raise the funds to ensure St. Louis College Prep scholar-athletes will be able to grow and thrive in a high-quality athletics program.
