Quadratic Equations Mrs. Krill

Quadratic Pictures in the Real World

Using a quadratic image to write an equation

Point A (-4, 4) Point B(-3, 5) Point C(1, 6) Point D (3, 5) Point E (5, 3)

I used these points to calculate my regression equation in my calculator. y= -.1278x^2 + .0111x + 6.1297

I used my regression equation to predict the height of the parabola when x = 4 on my coordinate plan. y=-.1274(4)^2 + 0.0111(4) + 6.1297 (4, 4.1293)

y=x^2 - 2x - 8
