Please bookmark the NBISD GT website for referencing all things GT related. 6th Grade GT

6th graders are working on team building skills and quick thinking strategies in this fast-paced and highly entertaining game of "Chicken Plucker". Ask your kiddo if they were able to put aside their individual needs in order to benefit the greater good of the group? Wow! This game was really loud and rowdy, but definitely learning to work together as a team. Excellent job!

7th Grade GT

7th graders have been having fun playing scattergories, which is a creative-thinking category-based game originally published by Parker Brothers in 1988. The objective of the 2-to-6-player game is to score points by uniquely naming objects within a set of categories, given an initial letter, within a time limit. It's great for practicing and enhancing their quick-thinking and out of the box strategies and skills. A very competitive group of kiddos - the library was definitely not quiet during this one:) Great game to enjoy with your family, too!

8th Grade GT

8th graders are creating fictional facebook type social media pages to explore and share their likes and dislikes. This is an entry event into the state based performance unit Pursuit of Passion where they will explore the relationship between personal interests and future opportunities and how this relationship guides goal setting. We hope you will enjoy exploring these future career goals with your students and begin making a plan for how to obtain these dreams.

Students have advisory every day this year. They will have designated GT days, but will also be participating in other activities like Rachel's Challenge, iStation, SSR, and GYST time, so please visit with them about the importance of being fully invested in all these activities.
This year we are changing from a peer showcase to grade level field trips. We will still have a PARENT SHOWCASE w/ a date still to be determined. We will share that as soon as it's available.

6th grade field trip to the Escape Haus: Thursday, April 25

7th grade field trip/competition at Westside Community Center: Wednesday, March 26

8th grade field trip to TLU: Tuesday, March 19

The NBMS GT newsletter will be shared bi-monthly, so please let me know if you would like to add additional emails to the mailing list. Please feel free to contact any one of us if you have questions or concerns. We are looking forward to a wonderful year here at NBMS!
