Early Life

She was born April 4, 1928 in California. Her mother said they should separate. So she had to live with her grandmother in Stamps Arkansas. She went to church. Her childhood was painful. When she started to grow up she was a performer. Then she landed a role in Porgy and Bess play. Then she got a role in broad way.

Maya Angelou real name was Marguerite Johnson. She was a famous person at writing and doing poems. She wrote lots of quotes. One quote is If you don't like something change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude.

She influenced my sister with her name and her writing. She influenced her with her poetry and performing. She loved her family. She mostly loved her brother her grandmother and her uncle.She loved them because she had not much family. She joined a fight. She loved african art so much. She new lots of famous people. Bill Clinton greeted her message in 1993.
