We thought some of you might be interested to know a bit more about Bumps and Biceps classes, so here we give you a little more insight into what it is, who its for and how you can sign up.
The classes consist of a variety of activities that are designed to help you improve fitness, tone up the body and strengthen and prepare for the physical effort of carrying, delivering and caring for your baby. Held over a 60 minute period the class is usually split into two halves, one half focuses on cardiorespiratory activity while the other focuses on strength and flexibility.
Because we understand that the body works quite hard during pregnancy, even when your not exercising, the classes are a low to moderate intensity, with options for the fitter ladies in the group. The exercises are also tailored in such a way to take into account other factors that pregnant women face such as the effects of hormones on the body and safe positions during exercises such as abdominal crunches etc.
That said, it doesnt mean that it is only suitable for pregnant women, any woman who wants a class that will help them get fit and toned is welcome to join us, it just means we keep a closer eye on our pregnant ladies.
