Virtual reality @ The Hive Come play in the future with us!

The HIVE is opening our doors to young people during YOUTH week (May 31- June 4th). We inviting young people between the ages of 12 and 22 to come down and experience a range of activities in fully immersive Virtual Reality with HTC Vive.

We have a very limited selection hourly sessions available (for koha) to young people. Individuals and small groups can choose from a wide range of experiences from-painting in 4D with Google Tilt Brush, exploring Google Earth from above, Party with Rick and Morty, or try out one of the awesome games and experiences.

Choose from a huge library of activities many more featured on our website!

Google tilt brush allows you to paint in every direction, with fire, paint, and many other novel brushes. Tilt Brush, one of the most fun, immersive, and impressive virtual reality tech demos for the HTC Vive.

Groups of up to 6 can come diffuse a bomb! The person in VR is trapped alone in a room with a ticking time bomb. Your friends have the manual to defuse it, but they can't see the bomb, so you're going to have to talk it out – fast! Groups get a manual and have to work together to save their friend from a terrible fate! Watch the sweat drip and always - KEEP TALKING AND NOBODY EXPLODES

We could not offer VR without the Rick and Morty VR game which makes total sense given the shows overarching interest in the metaphysical and the idea of multiple realities. The game is centred in Rick's garage, and puts you in the body of a Morty clone tasked with fixing various gadgets. It's problem and puzzle solving, essentially, but with a dose of shooting and surreal storytelling thrown in there too.

Many more cool VR activities are featured on our site - Book today as this is a strictly limited offer for youth in Dunedin to get in on the latest in graphics and immersive technologies.
