Card 1: Line & Rhythm Card 2: Shape & Movement Card 3: Form & Proportion Card 4: Color & Unity Card 5: Space & Balance Card 6: Texture & Repetition Card 7: Value & Pattern Card 8: Variety Card 9: Emphasis
I learned that there are many different techniques you can use to create texture on paper. I also learned that you can emphasize things on your artwork by using contrasting colors to bring attention to them. I learned that in art, balance doesn't always have literally mean balance, like weight, it can be a different amount of shapes or objects. The most challenging thing about mono-printing for me was that it never turned out exactly how I expected which caused there to be a lot of trial and error for me, but in the end it was interesting to see the random designs each print made.
My favorite card was the space and balance card because there is emphasis on the dots which in my opinion brings some excitement to the card. For the element of space i learned there is negative space and positive space. The negative space is the space around the objects, so basically the background. The positive space is the main focus of the card, so basically the main theme in the picture. For the element of balance i learned that it is the way the shapes, lines, etc. are arranged in a picture.
