Granola: a popular, healthy snack for on the go By: sydney chinitz '23

Especially with sports ongoing, it can be hard to grab a healthy, filling snack while in a rush. The quick, six ingredient granola recipe will be life changing for students and adults when in need for a healthy snack on the go.

Granola ingredients: four cups of rolled oats, three fourths teaspoon of salt, a half teaspoon ground cinnamon, half a cup coconut oil, one half cup and a teaspoon of maple syrup and a half cup chocolate chips (you can also add dried fruit or nuts; however, I did not use any in this particular batch).
Pour the rolled oats, salt and cinnamon into a bowl.
Add the coconut oil into a bowl, melt in the microwave for 45 seconds and then pour into the other ingredients.
Lastly, add the maple syrup to the ingredients and mix with a flexible spatula until every oat has been covered by the maple syrup.
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Spray a baking sheet with non-stick spray, and then put the mixed ingredients onto the pan and spread evenly. Once the oven has reached 350°F, put the granola in for 15 minutes or until slightly golden brown.
If you desire a more clumpy granola, layer the granola once it reaches slightly golden brown (15 minutes in the oven). Once layered, place the pan back into the oven for another 10 minutes. If you do not want clumpy granola, cook continuously for 25 minutes.
After 25 minutes has transpired, promptly take the granola out of the oven and place on a cooling rack for 20 minutes until cool. Once the granola is cooled you can eat, keep in a container for a snack on the go, store in bags, or freeze for up to two months.
