Snapshot 31 march 2017

Dear friends

In 1993 I took a small group of young adults to the Baptist World Alliance youth congress in Zimbabwe. At that time our country faced many political challenges. On the right and left radicals were crying for war, certain political figures did very little to move our country to a peaceful transition. At the start of the conference we were divided into small groups which represented many nationalities. During a time of prayer for each other I remember clearly asking this small group of people to pray for our country. I felt an overwhelming sense of concern for peace, healing and for the future of our country.

Over the next few months Christians from all races united, big prayer rallies were organized, churches prayed with all earnestness and we experienced a miracle that made the world sit up and take notice.

Its time for another miracle. See what God's word has to say:

2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

Will you take a little time today, pause and pray for our country?

Plan to join us this Sunday after the morning service or before the evening service as we do a "prayer walk" around the Eastside Grounds.
Consider joining the delegation from Eastside!

Missions Prayer Breakfast

Eastside is privileged to have a number of missionaries who call our church "home". It is therefore a joy for us to host them for breakfast a couple of times a year for fellowship, prayer, and a hearty breakfast.

Mark leads the missionaries in a time of worship.

Holiday Club

Deeper Holiday Club material is done and dusted. We are ready to go deeper in our walk with Christ. We have written and produced songs, written lessons and dramas and dreamed up awesome activities. We have already distributed the material to over 30 churches across the country this past week and are privileged to be able to share these resources in this way!

A DEEP thanks to the following:

A Lego-tastic Sleep-out!

What a LegoTastic sleep-out we had this past weekend. Children enjoyed an inspirational short movie on how Lego became what we know today and learned about perseverance. We enjoyed many Lego games and crafts!

My highlight though, was hearing the heart of a child for her friends, especially her unsaved friends. That's part of our vision for the year, as a church, and she really gets it!

Some "snaps" of the magic - crafts, lego building, making breakfast, and having a swim

John & Crezandra tied the knot in Eastside's gardens on 20 March. What a beautiful, special day. We wish you both all the best as you build your life together.
