OMG It's Race Season...

Bike racing is here. The USA CRITS Series starts this week in El Paso Texas, and we're beyond proud to announce that the 2018 series champions Team Clif Bar Cycling is rolling up to the start lines on VYNL Race Bikes.

This is our kind of team. We hung out with the squad at their Team Camp in Northern California and had a blast with this crowd of down-to-earth yet highly-accomplished racers, many of whom have raced at the elite level all over the world and are now heavy hitters in the US CRIT scene. They race hard and they have fun doing it (there was some late-night Zwift racing featuring Sierra Nevada Pale Ale as hydration). Having riders like these guys on VYNL's....well that's what we designed the bikes for from the beginning and a dream come true for us.

Yours Truly making the magic happen...

“I expected my VYNL to be good, but it’s blown my expectations out of the water. How can this aluminum bike ride faster and handle better than some of the $10K carbon bikes I’ve raced on? I’m stoked to be on my beautiful, handmade VYNL this year. It rides like a dream and I can’t wait to hit the USA CRITS series on it." -Joe Lewis, Team CLIF Bar Racing

And Team Clif Bar gets gets what we're all about. They were looking for hard-working race bikes that would offer uncompromising performance on race day and be tough enough to endure the whole season of travel and drama that comes with it.

“I’m a big fan of aluminum race bikes. The current carbon bike offerings are pretty dang fantastic, but well-sorted aluminum race bikes can certainly hold their own. The big crits can be pretty chaotic, and the Team CLIF VYNLs are right at home in the action. They’re handbuilt, US-made ‘Gumball Blue’ brawlers. And they’re a fun combo of old-school & new school. Shimano Di2 handles the shifting, but to keep things simple, rim brakes do the stopping. And we build them up with some of the finest parts available, including a complete ENVE cockpit/fork/wheel package, Chris King headsets & BBs, Speedplay pedals, Maxxis tires, Stages meters & K-EDGE mounts. In my opinion, this is a crit squad’s dream bike. And did I mention, they’re ‘Gumball Blue?’” -Dylan Seguin, Director Sportif

Think bike racing is meh? Then you haven't watched the action and intensity of an elite criterium featuring the most talented D1 teams in the US. Register here to watch the whole season.
