MCOM 2400 Projects Lauren King

This was the first blog I have ever created. I never saw myself as a "blogger," but to my surprise I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved having an outlet to be able to share my thoughts and opinions, along with just my daily lifestyle. I plan to continue to write in my blog beyond this semester.

The next project I would like to share is my podcast. The purpose of this podcast was to persuade college women to go through sorority recruitment. I enjoyed this project because sorority life is something I am passionate about. Here is a link to my podcast.

The letters of my sorority, Sigma Kappa.

For the photo story project, my partner, Hailey Massie, and I chose the Trinity Arts Center as our subject. Through these photos, we compiled a story. It's so interesting to see what can be created when you throw a bunch of pictures together in a video. This was the first time that I had ever worked with iMovie, and I definitely enjoyed it. Watch our photo story here.

The article spread assignment was the first time we had to use an Adobe product on our own. First of all, I love the Adobe platform. All of the programs are made very eloquently and efficiently. It was intimidating to me at first, but I quickly got the hang of it. I can't wait to make more projects on Adobe InDesign.

Last but not least, we were challenged to work with Adobe Premiere Pro. I found this program difficult to use at first, but after plenty tutorials, things began to come more easily. Sahara Fletcher and I were partners for this project. For both episodes, Sahara performed the cooking, and I did the voiceovers. Our first episode can be watched here, and provided instructions on how to cook pancakesĀ and bacon for breakfast. Our second video can be watched here, and provided instructions on how to cook spaghetti and Texas toast for dinner. Enjoy!
