Connecting Again

"Sometimes our light goes out, but is blown again into instant flame by an encounter with another human being" - Albert Einstein

Welcome Back

As we look forward I wanted to share how grateful I am for all of your support. The rhythm of the work starts with everyone who needs to be involved to be on the same page. Over the course of the month our focus is to re-establish what we do and to inform everyone about their part. Education is most certainly a collective effort and when each aspect of what will help a child to grow understands their role, student success can become a harmonious process.

Our Part...

Educating Children

Over the past week it was important for us to figure out where our students are so every subject area gave pre-assessments. These tests will give us a picture of what skills our students need and what they have already mastered which will help teachers to differentiate (support those who are in need and accelerate those who have already mastered) their approach to learning.

Creating a Positive School Culture

We have also begun to establish classroom expectations and schoolwide expectations to ensure that all students understand what it means to be e3. In the upcoming weeks administration will host grade level meetings with our students. WE recognize that building positive relationships is not an event. These meetings are just an initial conversation.

Informing Parents and Opening up Dialogue

Shortly thereafter there will be a virtual curriculum night and then toward the end of the month BMMS will host its annual Stakeholders Meeting. Continue to check the calendar on the school’s website to be reminded of the dates of these events. I look forward to addressing all who can attend.

Lastly, as we are made aware of positive COVID cases we will make the necessary adjustments for those students who are quarantined to alleviate any disruption in their learning. None of what we are experiencing is ideal. Thank you for keeping us informed which has allowed us to contact trace quickly.

Let us continue to communicate and work together to make this a successful school year. Our children need us to provide the structure and support necessary. It takes all of us.

Thank you for your patience as we have adjusted schedules to accommodate the needs of both virtual and brick and mortar. Some minor adjustments will be made next week to adjust class sizes based on newly enrolled students to assist in maintaining social distancing for our brick and mortar students. We are no longer accepting schedule change requests at this time except for health concerns with regard to Physical Education classes.
