The family traveled to the UK for the Christmas and New Year period to get with Friends and Family. I got a little time, not much, to savor the landscape and the wildlife. I did not have my birding camera gear with me so birds were not a major element in my attempts at photography this year.
In winter in the North of England the days are shorter than in Florida with workable light being in the 10am-4pm range, anything outside of that the light values were almost non-existent for wildlife in particular. From previous trips I had found trying to get high speed shots (1/800 or better), low ISO (800 or less) with a F ratio in the 6-8 area was extremely difficult, so on this trip I left my heavy gear in the USA.
Our first stop was the Gower Peninsula, South Wales, nearest city is Swansea.
The second stop was in the north of England, the 'Lake District". This is a National park area where building etc is highly controlled. It is an area of beauty and places to walk, long and short walks. We were lucky again with the weather with cool clear days.
Small amount of poor photos taken with 'happy snapper' camera kit of birds just to let see some of the local birds there.
