How it works

  • The cover story will be created by a professional writer and edited to connect with our Rancho Santa Fe readers.
  • Once your questions are completed and cover story is created, we will make a time to shoot the cover with our professional photographer. Please note it is very important to only share with us information you are happy to see published. Also, only submit any photos you are happy to see published. We will not have time to accomodate any change of heart with content submitted. If there is anything you feel on the fence about, simply don't submit it. Focus on what you are passionate about to share with Rancho Santa Fe.
  • Once your portraits are edited you will choose from final 10 for the cover. If you choose to order the first package, you will receive 10 print copies of the magazine and 10 polished photos and a framed copy of the cover
  • With the second package, you will receive a full commercial license to share and “repurpose” your story on social media, your website, newsletters and blogs
  • If you choose to buy the high res digital copies, you can make your family portraits into Christmas cards
  • The best part? If you haven't had a chance to update or write your about page, post your cover story instead. Save yourself hours and let us take care of crafting an 'about page' in the form of a story. Bam

Once your cover story is created, as our cover story producer is not compensated by The Connector for her 20 hours it takes to create photos and story of quality, please make sure the following process makes sense...

There will be options available to purchase cover photos, a digital copy and/or sponsorship space. For photos, copies of the magazine and digital files, packages which include a commercial license to publish all content on social media and share with your clients, family/friends via website or email.

We will need to fact check the story with you before it is published before the 1st of the month. Please note that due to the deadline, (3rd of the prior month), we will have only one opportunity to fact check the article before publishing.

Please note: Cover story writer does not always have access to printed copies of the magazine. You will be able to order the digital file from her want to purchase her photos and publish the cover story on social media or send to your many adoring fans in an email.

The cover story will be created by a professional writer and edited to connect with our Rancho Santa Fe readers. If google docs is a program you are not familiar with, let us know, we are happy to walk you through it for a seamless proofing session. We can schedule a 30-minute session of your choosing to refine the cover story together.

Once the cover story is created we will make a time to shoot the cover with our professional photographer and schedule a viewing session to see your portraits.

If you prefer to schedule your viewing right after the cover shoot and order photos to use in the story, let us know ASAP. We will need to make sure there is time for post-editing before the cover deadline.

Once your portraits are edited you will choose from ten photos for the cover.

With the second package, as well as the above, you will receive a full commercial license to share and “repurpose” your story on social media, your website, newsletters and blogs.

With ordering high res digital files of the magazine you can post it on the ‘about’ page of your website to show potential clients you are a trusted member of the community with a legitimate cover story.

By agreeing to move forward with a cover story note that Felice Kinnear Photography and Best Version Media can use and publish photographs, pictures, portraits or images here described in any and all forms and media and in all manners including composite images or distorted representations and for the purposes of publicity, illustration, commercial art, advertising, publishing (including publishing in electronic form on CDs or internet websites), for any product or services, or other lawful uses as may be determined by the photographer.

A reminder there is only chance only to fact check (proof) the final article. The only way to do this is to schedule a phone call or send minimal changes to writer by numbering the page, paragragh, and line that needs addressing. Once confirmed, edits made for A.P. style will be applied. After you have approved the final draft, all rights to review or approve any use of the images will not apply. Please understand you will not be able to see the final magazine until it is published and we need to let the designer create the photo layout without any changes.

If clothing is borrowed from a partner boutique recommended, please understand you are 100% responsible for the care of all garments and accessories. We highly recommend taking photos in detail of all items borrowed and inspect on return to ensure the condition is kept. I understand I will purchase any damaged goods at full price in the event the items are not returned in perfect condition.

Venmo is preferred payment app but check or cash can be used for all payments and deposit. If you are not already connected with this app, please let your photographer know. A deposit must be paid to secure the date.

Commercial License: On full payment for cover story, digital copy of cover article and photos Felice Kinnear will have permission to publish and print all high-res files in shared dropbox folder. This includes and is not exclusive to, promotion, social media and any other publications. Photos can be replicated or cropped however the client sees fit to best represent their brand.
