Student Achievements

The LU Student SHRM Chapter attended and presented their topic, The Apprentice: Creating Leaders for the Future Workforce, at the 2017 "The Joy of HR", Virginia State SHRM Conference, held March 12-15, 2017 in Williamsburg, VA.

Informatics student Charity Barker mentored four regional Cyber Patriot teams this Spring, including the James River Day School and Nelson County High School teams. Both competed in the first rounds of the Cyber Patriot Cyber Defense Competition, a national youth cyber defense competition. Nelson County advanced to the second round of the competition.

Liberty University received Honorable Mention in the AMA Collegiate Case Competition in 2017. The student team worked collaboratively for 6 months to complete a comprehensive marketing plan meant to increase awareness and trial for the eBay Corporation. Over 100 colleges and universities from around the country participated.

Student Club Leadership Dinner

The School of Business honored 70 of our student club leaders with an evening of dinner, encouragement and networking. Guest speaker John Frichtel, Vice President of Operations at Yves Delorme, charged our students to avoid fear when working toward their goals after graduation.

John Soloman, Deloitte

The School of Business welcomed Mr. John Solomon to address a group of our students in April. John is the Managing Director of the real estate advisory practice at Deloitte Consulting. He spoke with business students who have a particular interest in utilizing their degree in the real estate field.

The Entrepreneur's Center for InnovationĀ 

The School of Business has brought on Mr. Seth Wade as Executive Director of the Liberty University Entrepreneur's Center for Innovation. Mr. Wade has an extensive background in his own entrepreneurial endeavors and is passionate about sharing his experiences with the next generation. The Center is planning a full programming schedule for Fall 2017, including:

  • founder development courses
  • coding lessons
  • networking events
  • guest speaker series
  • acceleration programs

Graduation Anticipation

DBA students have been busy defending their dissertations before Commencement. 15 students will be receiving their diplomas in May. Liberty's first-ever Doctor of Business Administration Hooding Ceremony will take place at 11:30am on Friday, May 12, 2017.

Northrup Grumman Graduates

The School of Business piloted a Master of Business Administration cohort with employees at Northrup Grumman in Fall 2015. Professors traveled to their Richmond, Virginia offices each week to teach courses in person. The first graduates from this program will complete their degrees in May, and 7 of them will be attending our Commencement Ceremony.

Service with Excellence Awards

The School of Business Service with Excellence award honors the superior service provided by the online adjunct team. Faculty are nominated by their Instructional Mentors or School of Business Administration. The School of Business recognizes and values the strength in our teams, and the sacrifice our faculty makes in servicing our students and will continue to encourage and support efforts in building a team environment.
